Environmental Quality Through Art & Science

Science & Art Exhibition

A Different Way to Present Science

SETAC Europe’s art exhibition “Environmental Quality Through Art & Science” is an initiative from the SETAC Europe Science and Local Organising committees to represent science in a creative way through different art disciplines. Artists and scientists are working closely together on environmental topics to make it more accessible to a broader audience.

SETAC Europe is collaborating with universities and art schools which is perfectly in line with the conference overarching theme: “Environmental Quality Through Transdisciplinary Collaboration”.

How Does it Work?

SETAC Europe members (scientists) give lectures about SETAC to artists; its mission, its scientists and the different disciplines it is covering. Artists are asking questions after the lecture and lots of interaction starts between them! Artists are getting inspired and create art pieces of all kinds which will be presented at the art exhibition in Brussels.

PiLoT Project

SLAC and KU Leuven started the PiLoT project to express science through art under the general theme “Chaos”. The University and Academy are working with scientists of all disciplines and the project is running during the 2016-2017 academic year.

SETAC Europe’s Art Exhibition joined the PiLoT project and therefore found the right platform to welcome several artists for its Science & Art exhibition.
